About Monroe City, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Monroe City, Indiana is a Knox County community located in Harrison Township. Approximately 550 people lived here as of 2010 census, and the town was named for founder Monroe Alton. Monroe City is located along IN-61, and it is about 11 miles southeast of Vincennes and 10 miles northwest of Petersburg. Louisville, Kentucky is only a two hour drive to the east, while Indianapolis is about 2.25 hours northeast.

This small town isn’t home to any major attractions. There is a gas station here – Marathon Gas – as well as Monroe City RV, a local RV repair shop. There are also several churches located within the town limits, including the First Church of God, Apostolic Light House, and Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Other activities are available in neighboring Vincennes, and some of the most popular include the Country Club of Old Vincennes, the Indiana Military Museum, and the Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy.

Monroe City residents will experience markedly different seasonal weather conditions throughout the year. Summertime temperatures average in the upper 80s, and high humidity is characteristic throughout the season. There are many days in which daytime highs reach well into the 90s. Locals need to stay safe with the right central air conditioning system at home, as these sweltering conditions increase the risk of heat-related injuries and illnesses.

Fortunately, this hot weather won’t last forever, and eventually, it will make way into a warm autumn and cool to cold winter. Then, residents will need to rely on their natural gas or electric furnace. An experience Monroe City HVAC technician can make sure that any existing system is running properly before the coldest conditions strike, as overnight lows often fall below freezing. Failure to invest in a heating system checkup may lead to dangerous and expensive situations should the unit fail during the dead of winter.
