About Otwell, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Otwell, Indiana is a small, unincorporated community in Pike County. A part of Jefferson Township, Otwell was originally known as Pierceville when the community was founded in 1855. The current name is derived from that of Robert Otwell Brown, one of the early settlers to the area. The Pike County School Corporation serves the area, and while a local elementary school is located in Otwell, older students will attend Pike Central High School in Petersburg. Otwell is located about an hour northeast of Evansville and is only about 84 miles west of Louisville.

There aren’t any major attractions in Otwell, but there are a few notable businesses here. The Circle A Food Mart offers food and fountain drinks, as well as gasoline. Visitors and residents alike may like to check out the Otwell Community Center Flea Market, and a few local dining establishments like The Schnitzelbank Restaurant and The Mill House Restaurant are located up the highway in neighboring Jasper.

The weather of Otwell is consistent with a humid subtropical climate zone. This means that residents will enjoy four distinct seasons during the year. While it may be a beautiful place to visit, it’s important for residents to take precautions to stay safe. In the winter months, average low temperatures fall into the mid-20s or cooler, especially overnight. When these frigid temperatures are combined with ice, sleet, or snow, indoor or outdoor conditions could become dangerous, but an energy efficient furnace can help.

During the summer, conditions become humid and hot, and there are many days where thermostat readings exceed 90 degrees. With high humidity levels typical of a humid subtropical region, weather conditions can feel ever warmer. Residents will appreciate that they have a cool place to retreat on the hottest days. An energy efficient air conditioner will provide just that.
