About Winslow, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Winslow, Indiana is a town located in Pike County’s Patoka Township. As of 2010, only about 860 people lived in this community, which is found within the Jasper Micro Statistical Area. Named after an early settler, Winslow was founded in 1837. Today, Winslow is a small residential community that houses a branch within the Pike County Public Library System. The town’s most famous resident was former basketball player Richard “Dick” Fraley, who spent time with the Detroit Pistons.

While major attractions might not be present in Winslow, there are some important businesses located here. The Kangaroo Express is a popular convenience store with snacks and other food items, and residents in need of something stronger may like to visit Winslow Liquors. Outfitters Station is a local clothing store, and Riverside Park is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon outdoors. There are also several golf courses located in the immediate vicinity, including Sultans Run Golf Club in Jasper and the Oakland City Golf Club in Oakland City.

Winslow is located within a humid subtropical zone, and in the summer, humid and hot conditions are typical. Average July highs reach well into the 80s, but it is entirely possible to see temperatures well into the 90s. On these especially hot days when humidity also rises, Winslow residents rely heavily on their central air conditioning to stay cool. A reliable HVAC specialist is a good resource during this season, especially in the event of a problem.

While the summer season offers some of the year’s most extreme weather conditions, climate controls are still important at other times. Winters are cooler than other parts of the U.S., but cold snaps are also possible. Overnight lows often fall below freezing, especially overnight, so residents need to invest in the right electric or gas furnace. These systems will ensure homeowners stay comfortable, warm, and safe throughout the season.
