About Wheatland, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

A small town in Knox County, Wheatland, Indiana is home to only about 480 people. This community was named after the vast wheat fields that called the area home when it was originally laid out in 1858. Wheatland is located along US-150 between Frichton and Maysville, and it is 70 miles southwest of Bloomington. Other nearby communities include Petersburg, Vincennes, Princeton, and Evansville.

While Wheatland isn’t home to any major attractions, a few local businesses are found here. The U.S. Postal Service operates a post office, and the Vagabond Motel welcomes visitors to the area. There are also two main churches in Wheatland – the Wheatland Wesleyan Church and the Wheatland Christian Church.

Nearby communities offer more things to see and do. Neighboring Petersburg is a popular destination for antique enthusiasts, as the Whitehorse Antique Shop and Route 56 Antiques and Treasures are both found here. Vincennes is known for its Country Club of Old Vincennes and Waggoner Farms Premier Driving Range, and pet lovers might like to check out the Knox County Dog Park.

Wheatland residents can plan on four very different seasons throughout the course of the year, as is characteristic of a humid subtropical climate zone. A warm and wet spring is the perfect time to prepare home central air conditioners for the forthcoming summer season. Beginning in June, temperatures will quickly heat up, and humidity levels soar. Temperatures often exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit, so the right central air conditioner is a necessity at home.

Fortunately, the hot summer season doesn’t last forever. Temperatures will begin to cool off during the autumn, leading to a cold winter. Snowfall only reaches about a foot in total accumulation, but freezing temperatures are a concern. Fortunately, gas and electric furnace systems are more affordable than ever, and they ensure that residents stay warm and comfortable throughout the season.
